What a terrible, terrible loss.
We did not guard.
We lost to a team that dressed seven players.
We kept getting a lifeline from them and never made them pay. Horrible.
Our last shot was a replay of the first buzzer beater. Three guys standing around while a risky post pass was made. Zero movement, zero cutters.
We needed this game and we were bad.
I've been harping on this all year. We got 11 points off the bench. Nine from Eddy. Our bench kills us.

Eddy took three horrible shots near the end of regulation, and near the end of each of the overtime periods. He was also consistently beaten by whomever he was guarding. In my humble opinion he single handed cost us the game. He should not be in any game that is on the line at the end of the game.

What a terrible, terrible loss. The loss was tough to take. It was not "terrible, terrible." It made no difference in our tournament situation, other than the color of the jersey we wear against W&M. Get a grip on reality. And maybe drink a little less beer before the game.

To be fair. Losing to a team dressing 7 players is somewhat embarasding

Well, when one of those players has over 40 points and most of them can shoot 3-pointers, it's going to happen. Don't underestimate how good NE is...and the scary thing is, one of their better players did not make the trip. NE played tenacious and physical defense and had a height advantage over us. Hated to lose the game, but our guys played hard. Don't think it's fair to be so negative on them. For that matter...pretty sure there are teams across the country who play 7 guys.

I'm not sure why this loss is being brushed off by some. Lingering issues continue to plague us.

It was a great game to watch. Unfortunately, as an Elon fan it sucks that we lost. I thought Eddy played one of the better games he's played this year. He had no stupid passes to no one like he usually does. He didn't take that many ill advised shots. However though, the mistakes he made were at critical times. But overall I thought he had a good performance.
I give credit where it's due. Williams, the likely all America PG, started the game dribble driving & kicking out to #2 who simply couldn't miss a three. Then Williams reverted to his typical game in the 2nd half. Honestly, with our level of athleticism we were lucky to have stayed with them to overtime.
Like I said, I hate to lose, but I thought we did a good job in the loss.

This team has a lot of flaws and the ones we have all mentioned at times will be what prevent them from getting to the next level for now. However, this team has won me over with how hard they play. I was one of the biggest skeptics before the season started but they do compete every night. Last night was a hard fought game between two middle of the pack teams with flaws but it was great sport.
The heartbreaking part of the loss is that it will likely hold us back from a lot of things. A win and we likely could have finished 3rd with a 19-12 record. It also would have given us a better draw in the CAA tourney (being out of the #1 seed half of the bracket). Being 3rd place with 19 wins as opposed to 5th with 18 wins would have also put us in much better position to get a CBI or CIT bid, which I desperately want for these kids

Anyone who is disappointed in what this team has done this year is crazy.
18 wins (assuming we win at home against Delaware) - CAA record Will avoid the first-round of the CAA tourney - first time we've done that in the CAA 10-8 in CAA (assuming we beat Delaware) - first winning CAA record
And we are doing it with sophomores...the future is very bright...

Seven dressed players so do our coaches try to get ne in foul trouble. Never thought of it til late in game when ne let Thompson go wild. Unbelievable. Please tell me why Elon is only division one team not using outof boundplays. Coaching lost this game. Slow stand still shooter scores forty. Can we guard anyone. This team has underperformed and will exit tournementearly

After your recent post about your view point of the ineffectiveness of Eddy. I thought i may need to relook at my opinion. Looking at your past posts you must have a complex calling out Eddy the Northeastern game? His stats were zero turnovers and six assist. I may be wrong as I recall he stepped up to knock down four crucial shots from the free throw the line very late in the game. I also recall fans stating why Eddy wasn't guarding #2 who hung 40 on us until overtime session when player didn't score in both OT. He had the assignment of the player of year in the conference which was 4-14 until overtime when Eddy wasn't defending him. At the end of regulation Eddy found Dawkins at the foul line with a nice pass but shot was off the mark.
