There's a big conference game tonight in Alumni. As of 2 weeks ago, Towson was still receiving votes in the AP poll! A the moment, Towson is 68 in the RPI and Elon is 80.
What should we expect tonight?

Last year we won the first game, (also at home), by 11 but lost the last/away game by 19. Its hard to know what to expect because I simply don't know how good Towson really is. So far the lowest RPI team they've beaten is Georgia Southern at 115. They've lost to Oakland 85, ODU 91, CofC 138, and Pittsburg 150. We are 80 and we return all of our starters from last year. So I think we should expect a win. But, as we all know, it'll all depend on how accurate we are behind the arc, and how aggressively we play D as to whether we'll win. I'm really hoping we'll be shooting lights out!

If we want to believe that we’re a veteran team that’s capable of making a run towards a CAA title, this is a must-win game.
Frankly, we’ve underachieved so far this season. We have not been, crisp all year.
Let’s get the W and start playing like a veteran team.

Lots of good games coming up starting with tonight. I agree with what everyone has written. It is a very big game, we should expect a win, and we have not been crisp all year (underachieved).
That said, this team and this staff have now trained me to think that they will not come through in these spots so I sure hope I am wrong, but I expect a loss. I don't love this matchup as Towson is a pretty good rebounding and defensive team, neither of which helps us. As we all know, we usually have to shoot very well to win and I expect shots to be much tougher to come by vs Towson. The team will need to find a alternate ways to score tonight at times, be tough, and at least be competitive on the boards
I am on my way to Alumni and hoping this team can turn a corner of sorts and start to play good basketball. I just know better at this point than to let meyself believe I will see it

Feeling better only down 4 at half after starting perimeter was 4 of 18. One of the four makes was an uncontested banked three. Lets pull this out. Go Phoenix!

WAY TO GO ELON! The guys played the best game of the season tonight. It was a slow start but a furious finish. This is the most athletic we've looked. I feel a lot better about the season right now. Very proud of the team tonight.

Great second half tonight.
Really need to carry over the momentum as we head North for two huge games this weekend.

Very nice win tonight. Very happy I was wrong. I felt OK when they cut it to 4 at the half after some simply miserable stretches in the first half. Still a lot of mistakes but boy, did they battle toe to toe in the 2nd half with Towson. On to NU/Hofstra for a big weekend

Towson has really great talent, is well coached, and very athletic. This was my first game watching us play this year. Towson hit some really tough shots throughout the contest and we really hustled defensively throughout the game. They were just good at the first of the game and we bad offensively! We battled at the end of the first half to get the score within reason!
We played much better the second half with both teams having mini runs. In the last two minutes of the game... we really turned it up defensively and that my friends is how you win games. Towson went counter to their game plan and went too much one on one. Elon really started moving the ball much better in the second half and kept doing it right up till games end.A lot of folks for us hit big shots down the stretch! As good a game to watch as I have seen this year. We just refused to loose and played team offense and defense at games end!
Great win for this team! .

I'm not familiar with Towson's coach, Pat Skerry, but he does look to be a good.
After going 1-31 his first season, he's only had one losing season since and 3 twenty win seasons.

Good to see the team start to gel. This is the direction we should have been in from the start of the season. I won't belittle the win, as it was an important one. I think Elon has a target on it's back when we play other CAA schools. This type of effort should be the standard, not the exception.
Teams are giving us their best shot. This will not change. It helped that we had balance from the team. Dawkins is being double teamed, and the remaining guys have to keep stepping up. How we do when we are having an off night offensively needs to be seen.
We need our free-throw percentage to get up to 85% or better. We also need to work on getting to the line more, as this will keep teams honest. Petty gripes, but we need to keep getting better.
This will be an interesting season. Let's hope we have a team which starts being consistent each time when they are on the court.
I can start believing again.

85% might be a little high. The best free throw shooting team in the country is slightly above 80%.
