As baseball starts their season, is this a make or break season for Kennedy?
He’s had most success of any coach at Elon. However, the program has taken a major step back in recent years. Three straight losing seasons. That’s been unheard of at Elon over the last 30 years.
I think he’s a very good coach. What gives?

Disclaimer: I do not talk with Kennedy about baseball. I am not a baseball coach.
It appears to me that Elon places a lot of emphasis on pitchers, like everyone does, but it also seems that we place much more emphasis on speed than we do batting. we just don't seem to be able to hit. We try to manufacture runs; base hits, bunts, etc., but we just don't ever seem to score a lot of runs.

Glad to see them get the win tonight. No matter the reason, they are going to need to get something going at the plate or it's going to be a long season. 11 runs in 4 games and 6 of those were from 1 game.
The pitching has been stellar so far (knock on wood). Really just one bad inning.
Go Phoenix!

There was a point in time when Elon was able to recruit both. Chase Austin, Ryan Kinsella and Cory Harrilchak come to mind. Did losing Starbuck a few years back make that big of a difference?
