Well, I have stopped watching this debacle. Absolutely no defense and once again that “deer in the headlights” look. Totally out coached by a rookie head coach with the next to last place team. I am no longer interested. 400 fans in Schar is going to look pretty poor.

It was horrific. To come out on the road and give up 40 points in 10 minutes, get outrebounded 14-3 in 10 minutes and be so passive you don't draw a foul in 10 minutes. And against a truly awful basketball team. Honestly, I'm sick to death of Matt but the kids are showing no resolve either at this point. It is a sure sign everyone has lost any semblance of trust in the process.

Enough is enough. It’s time. Fire the entire staff. Giving up 51 points in one half to an 8-18 team? I’d leave the staff to get home on their home from Wilmington.

As flat and pathetic performance as there has ever been in my 30 years of watching Elon hoops.
Dominated on the glass. Dominated in effort.
If you bring up Dawkins being out...please explain how two seniors and a junior can’t combine to give any support at his position.
Time for a change.

Matt's got to go. If there was any doubt before, tonight should have done it.
Go Phoenix!

Matt has to go. He will not change so the school named elon must change. Get a new coach. We must move on now.

Just my two cents...
The program has had issues before, and this year is no different. The question as to whether Coach Matheny should be retained, or released, is open for debate. What is not open for debate is that Coach Matheny has yet to show the ability to right a rudderless ship.
Dawkins being out has hurt. Along with Seibring, they were the only two players to constantly play some level of defense. All other players, have yet to step up. Meech and Santa Ana can play defense when they are inclined to do so. Swoopes makes no attempt to play defense. To date, our opponent's guards have torched us in the games. Coach Matheny has yet to address this shortcoming.
The script for our games is set in stone: Jack up threes and hope we outscore our opponents. This approach has been the focus of Coach Matheny's tenure at Elon. What is frustrating, and has yet to be shown, is Coach Matheny's ability to make adjustments to combat our opponent's efforts. Other than rubbing the rabbit foot in his pocket, Coach Matheny has yet to change his game plan to put the team in a position to COMPETE, or God forbid, WIN.
The team is in free-fall right now. If we need to slow the pace of the game, take more medium range shots, drive to the basket, I'd support Coach Matheny more if he JUST TRIED ANOTHER APPROACH. I couldn't get mad if an effort was made to address our problems.
Today will show whether Coach Matheny is the coach Elon hired 9 years ago: A coach who is innovative and puts the team in a position to compete. I have lost patience with the current MOBY Dick approach, i.e., chasing something you cannot defeat. In this instance, the system is NOT WORKING. It's time for a new approach.
I pray Coach Matheny shows some growth and competes rather than try to prove to the world that his "system" works. To date, his system continues to come up short. It Coach Matheny's program, and the results are his and his alone.
