Ok....so I said “I don’t feel so good about he matchup” this past weekend and Elon won handily.
So Richmond had its starting QB benched in the first half for violating team rules. UR then airs it out on its first play of the 2nd for a 66 yard TD pass. Mancuso kind of ripped through the D throwing for 230+ yards in a half.
So fast forward to this weekend, and there are some big concerns. Elon is giving up nearly 10 yards per pass play and is facing a QB that currently ranks 10th for passing yards in FBS.
If the pass D doesn’t get better in a big darn hurry, this game will be over pretty quickly.

I totally agree with our pass D. Look at my report cards. It’s a theme in all of them. We need to tighten up or it’s going to be a long game/year.

Wake will put a lot of work in being physical w/ RPO and they do it well. Former Elon asst, Warren Ruggerio is a mad scientist as the Wake OC they have talent on both sides of the ball. Elon will need to execute our game plan and hit them in the mouth first and give them hell. that's about it.

To me the worst thing about this game is the scheduling. In all practicality this game is meaningless for Elon and then they have to turn around and play the most difficult game of the CAA schedule the next weekend. This is just setting the team up for failure. This team always seems to be disadvantaged by scheduling. I get that it is a money game, but just look at JMU's schedule which makes sense. They opened with their money game, then have 3 fairly easy FCS games before they open CAA (with us).

JMU has this weekend open before they play us next week. Here is just a suggestion: Why don't you start a bit more positive and just praise our guys and their coaches for bold and tough-a$$ playing. The work ethic has been there and they are executing their game plan. Totally balanced on both sides of the ball (JMHO). As for scheduling The State of New York's ban on dealing with the non-issue bathroom bill in North Carolina has to to be addressed and rescinded. Stoneybrook & Albany have to get back in the rotation. Be supportive our guys deserve it unconditionally.
