I watched the Coastal vs GWU game last night. GWU is NOT the pushover Massey and other rating services say. They played a solid game against CCU. Their QB has size and can run along with being a decently accurate passer. AND their defense gave CCU's offense all it could handle. Our Defense, IMO, looks better than CCU, so I have confidence we can limit the damage GW's offense can do. But our offense will need to have great decision making and lots of Discipline to make this solid win. Otherwise, it could be a low scoring loss. Hopefully the weather will be dry for this game. I plan on attending.

I was surprised at how well they played against Coastal. I saw some of their first game against Limestone and they were dominant. I couldn't tell how much of that was them or the competition. The Coastal game proves Elon will have its hands full. Have to be able to win these games if we expect to do well in CAA play though.
I noticed in the game notes Jalen Hampton is back on the depth chart after not playing last week. Having that depth at RB will hopefully help the run game. Hoping to see more success on the ground. Pass protection has been good.
Go Phoenix!

Well lets me honest here. Wofford is just plain pitiful this year, and last year too. They had one lucky win against us and then went 0-10. They are having big time Coaching issues!
GWU will be a tuff game! Defence has improved, but it will come down to Elon's play calling.

I am dumbfounded at WOCO hiring a coach to take them away from the Triple Option and all the success Ayers & company had. Wofford is suited perfectly for the TO and will have a very difficult time competing with a pro set offense. I guess we should count our blessings with Blank? Very anxious to see what Trish and company have dialed up for GWU. We owe them a woodshed butt whoopin!

Good win last night. Defense came through in the 4th quarter, really the entire second half, despite giving up three touchdowns in the second quarter. Turnovers might have killed us, but the team overcame. Hampton had a great game for us. We really needed what he contributed. Davis hits another 52-yarder! Hope we can carry this momentum into conference play. William & Mary will be a big test for us next week.
Go, Phoenix!

Happy for the win. This was pretty much what I expected, ie: a hard fought battle and a subsequent win for Elon. The Defense took a bit of a break during the 2nd quarter, but the rest of the time they were impressive. The OL once again did an awesome job of protecting McKay and opening holes for the running backs. Hampton was exceptional rushing 160 yards. This wasn't due only to great OL effort, he did a great job after moving past the line of scrimmage. Also, I can't imagine there is a better corps of receivers in the FCS. They combined for 280 yards, 3 TDs distributed over EIGHT receivers! Of course that doesn't happen without a QB with a good arm and exceptional awareness plus a great OL.
The dark side, however, is we had 3 turnovers, (1 pick, 2 lost fumbles), plus we had 10 penalties for 75 yards, which in at least 2 instances kept us from scoring additional points. GW by comparison had 2 penalties. Mistakes of this nature will prevent a win against a team like William & Mary. We really need to clean those up and hold true to the AED, especially the D, philosophy.
I'm hoping to make the trip to Williamsburg. I hope we will have a good representation of fans there.

So did the Athletic dept cut all funding for the Productions team? The fact highlights are not available for either the Wofford or Gardner-Webb games is super frustrating. It's 2022, but trying to find highlights of these games is like it was 1992. Mind-boggling stuff. This team is worth celebrating, but the fanbase can barely watch them.
