Simple, win and finally get a bye week. Hampton is a tricky place and they, like Albany, have been in some interesting games. This has to be a no nonsense, start fast and end physical type of game. Expecting a whole lot of run game with McKay managing it. Hampton really played William and Mary tough, so this will not be a pushover.
Go Phoenix.

With a few breaks going their way, Hampton could have beaten the Tribe. We'll have to play up to the standard we set against Delaware and UAlbany to defeat the Pirates.
Side note: Bo Sanders has been playing at a very high level, but gets little recognition. Omar Rogers deserved defensive player of the week after the Delaware game, but Bo could well have been co-player of the week. My recollection is that he had three pass break-ups against UD, two in the end zone. He was also effective against the Great Danes, but again overshadowed by Marcus Hillman and the rest of the sack pack. Go, Bo! And . . .
Go, Phoenix!

This game could very well be a trap game with the Elon players overlooking Hampton for the bye week. Hampton will have a lot of confidence after their good showing against W&M, and will be looking to knock off a ranked team in order to bolster their confidence for next year. As ftp said, win then we have a week off heading into the playoffs. Lose and we get a long break until next fall. The game this week is every bit as important as the Delaware game. Elon Game Notes: elonphoenix.com/documents/2022/11/8/FULL_GAME_NOTES_vs_Hampton.pdfThe official Hampton U. website has nothing posted about the upcoming game against Elon. There is a post about their pushing the 8th ranked Tribe, then the next most current football game oriented post was about their earlier game against Tuskegee. Here's the website if you care too look: hamptonpirates.com/sports/footballThe also have a fan forum, but not much is posted at all. Here's the URL: hupirateship.twilsontech.com/forum/pirate-news

We had a number of great defensive performances including Chazz Harley, Brice Graves, Antonio White, Jake Louro and Cazeem Moore among others. I think our Defense is in good shape for years to come.

Hampton currently has no athletic media relations staff. The person who is handling it is their university communications person so probably has a ton on his plate right now. FloSports is great when the infrastructure is in place. Getting motion sickness with todays production. The CAA should hold a media training for all school production teams.

I know it is clearly a rough time for Hampton’s Athletic Department. But if FloSports is going to charge $20 a month for coverage, then I expect some level of quality. Just got back to ESPN+, please:l. And also, it’s not just Hampton. A lot of our away games have had subpar quality. I believe we are spoiled, but this needs to improved drastically conference wide before next football season.

Part of the reason for Flo is that ESPN has production standards and many programs aren't willing to pony up the $$ to meet them. Blame the presidents and ADs for Flo, they're the ones that make that decision.

So Elon pulls out a win. Delaware and Rhode Island both have horrible losses in the last few seconds of the game. Does that come close to eliminating them from the playoffs? At the end of the day we are 4th in the CAA and will stay there unless W&M beats Richmond. What a great rivalry game for those 2 programs to end their regular season.

Delaware not kicking the field goal to go up six was similar to the EU/UR game. This gets interesting regarding hosting because if William and Mary wins next week, I think they will be at top 8 and we should host. If not, I’m unsure if we will be home. To be really honest, I am just excited for this win and this program. Trisciani is the Coach of the Year. 110%.

After the top 8 are seeded, playoff pairings are made somewhat regionally (trying to keep within 400 miles). After those pairings are set, they open the envelopes for the bids, whoever is higher hosts.
I think, if A&T beats Gardner-Webb next week, that you'll see the Aggies at Rhodes Stadium. You could also possibly get Davidson if GW wins (I think they may get sent to Furman in that scenario).
You're guaranteed no worse than a tie for 3rd and could finish in a tie for 2nd if UNH somehow loses next week, too.

They have also had an insane FCS schedule with FBS games vs. Coastal Carolina, Marshall, & Liberty. With them being home, I’ll give them the advantage. However, it’s nice to be watching and feeling somewhat comfortable. Davidson got smacked vs. San Diego today, so the auotbid for the Pioneer is between Davidson, Butler, and Dayton. Will be wild final Saturday in the FCS.

Oh I agree with you. But there are some members who refuse to spend the money they would have to to make it happen.
