On another note, Hampton has a decent team, but this program shouldn’t be in the CAA. They have horribly deficient facilities and understanding simple protocol.

No stats from home team they eluded from Taylor Durham on audio feed they may have to replay video for confirmation. Hampton must do better or go back to MEAC. At least FLO got SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF Our game on film. Saw replay of game winning TD drop by UNH wr over URI with no reviews. I am amazed not.

Great finish to the season. Hampton video production sucked but got the job done. Our offense played as I expected them to play all year. That is all. See you for the playoffs!

Congrats to the team on finishing strong after the URI/UNH stretch. How big are those come back wins against W&M and Richmond now? It shows how little difference there is from being 8-3 vs 6-5. Hopefully the defense learned something from how easily Zellous was able to scramble for yards in the first half. If we see a another mobile QB down the road it could present problems.
I was at the game yesterday and thought the facilities and gameday experience were fine. Nothing great, but not terrible either. Having grown up in Hampton and attending several games in the early 90s, the current version of Armstrong Stadium and the Convocation Center are leaps and bounds better than what they had then.
I do agree Hampton is the weakest of the CAA additions overall, but they do have potential for football and basketball longer term. I know it was mentioned about their SID situation, but they really need to fix the quality and speed of getting game summaries/live stats/box scores done. The CAA should be enforcing a standard of the conference members.
Go Phoenix!

On another note, Hampton has a decent team, but this program shouldn’t be in the CAA. They have horribly deficient facilities and understanding simple protocol. I was at the game yesterday too. I’ll give examples, some of which I observed others which I heard. I noticed our players, especially defense slipping a lot during the first half. I walked around the field at the half & basically here’s what I saw. There was no turf infill. If you’ve ever watched a game played on synthetic turf, you’ve seen tiny black rubber pellets almost splash up when the ball hits the ground or when a player drags his foot. Those pellets are called turf infill. The infill settles between the blades of grass to keep it supported and standing straight up. This provides traction for the players so they can cut, like playing on real grass. At Hampton, the grass was flat and shiny. No infill = no traction. If you’re not used to playing on this, you’re at a distinct disadvantage. There is no guest locker room. They use classrooms in the building next door. I don’t think this is a huge deal, just not what I’d call CAA worthy. On our first series in the second half the band (which was pretty good at performing) wouldn’t stop playing. It took what seemed like 10 minutes to get them to stop after being asked multiple times by the refs, their own announcer and their coach. I don’t even know if there’s a rule against this, but I’ve never seen this before. I was at a game at A&T several years ago where the refs had to ask the band to stop playing, but they stopped after being asked. Then there’s the other stuff that’s already been mentioned. Their players were also very chippy, but our guys were too, so no biggie there. None of this is un fixable, but it should be fixed asap. JMHO

I work Field security at the Carolina Panthers, anytime i put my knee down on the turf I have to brush off those pellets. I could only imagine playing without them. As for the band I think its conference by conference. MECA you see a lot of this. Years ago we had issues with A&T playing right up to the snap or after it, both Home and Away. Not sure the exact rule. I think NCAA states that all amplified noise must stop when the snap is imminent. If they didnt stop there sideline should have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
