Congratulations to Max for officially being named CAA Rookie of the Year. The only other award winner for Elon was Zac Ervin for CAA Scholar Athlete of the Year. Max turned out to be a nice surprise. With Pratt coming on toward the end of the season and Deandre Smart being healthy next year along with Sherry returning and the addition Of Power 5 Fav, Kendall Campbell and Issac Hayes. This Elon team could be exciting next year. Congrats to Max and Zac.
Mackinnon also named to All-Rookie First Team of course........

This will be our biggest recruit next year. Keeping Max out of the portal

I don't think he is going anywhere. As great an asset as he was to our team, he still has a lot of room for growth especially in the area of ball handling and shooting beyond the 7 ft floater range. I cannot see him moving parallel to another equally ranked conference and I am not sure he is good enough to go to a Power 5 school at this stage of his career. He was not recruited at all at the D1 level so I believe he will stay loyal to the Phoenix....At least one more year and maybe beyond.

As was said in another post, he seems to be happy at Elon and with the team's apparent potential for next season, I'd be mildly surprised if he entered the portal.

Respectfully, I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t. Like I have said before, I could see an A10 or American school swooping in. I know he likes Elon, but times have changed. We are going to lose good players EVERY year from now on. All mid- majors will. And by chance Max has a few good seasons at his next stop, then a Power 5 school will swoop in for his senior year. That’s just how it works now. Bottom line: Taylor is going to have re-recruit Max and sell him on Elon.

I have no inside knowledge but given how college basketball works I don’t see how he won’t go. Someone at the low major or power 6 will take a chance on him.

My thought is that he won't have the same skill separation in the A10 or AAC & the jaunt to P5 would be much less likely. That's just a risk Max will have to ponder.
