Defense seems solid, a few question marks. Offense has good vets returning. Only question mark is Downing at QB. Not sure his showing against Wake will be a good measure for projecting his effectiveness against FCS foes. Special teams, except Brayboy and Sanders, are a big unknown.
Don't know about Brown.
Go, Phoenix!

Berkowitz isn't Skyler Davis, but I've heard he's better as a freshman than Skyler was. Downing is definitely an unknown. I can't imagine he'll be anywhere near the level of McKay. I was surprised that Lankford wasn't at least the backup QB. I guess he isn't developing as fast as they had hoped. I've heard he's a better runner that even McKay was. Really looking forward to tonight's game!!

Hampton is going to be a beast this year. Huge touch free run for the TD

Proud of the guys' effort. Defense showed some fire with sacks, TFLs, and run defense. Should be competitive against FCS offenses.
Hampton still our big gun.
Ongoing concern: QB.
Go, Phoenix! Beat GW.

Although the game was nowhere close to what the score indicated, it was still a good effort. Wake is going to win 6 or 7 games in a P5 conf, so that’s a good result. But boy did Downing look bad. Not just the stats, he literally looked like he had zero confidence out there. He looked beaten down, just like a guy who is on his 4th school. I hope I’m wrong, but we might not see him again. If Hampton isn’t one of the 2 or 3 best running backs in FCS, then I’d like to see who is better. He is a stud.

Question mark at QB for next week? Thankfully the toughest game of the season was the first game.

We may have the Quarterback answer, but he hasn't seen the field yet. It is past time to get him game action. He can't do any worse.

I actually felt pretty good about Allen. His worst decision was the first INT in the endzone. A lob pass vs. the back shoulder would have registered 6. Our receiver was a foot taller than the CB & was behind the CB. A lob was the right play, so, that was a poor judgement TO. The 2nd int could've happened to anybody. Allen tried to thread the needle and the DB made a good play. Otherwise, I thought Allen showed pretty good judgement and his accuracy was pretty good overall. I understand that Lankford isn't developing as they had expected. Yes, I agree that at some point you have to throw him to the wolves & stick him in a game and see how he steps up. Unless there's something I don't know/haven't seen, Allen has the job. Downing really struggled in the 1st Q. Unless something dramatic happens, I don't expect to see him again this season.
I really look forward to watching Hampton as the season progresses. I thought he was clearly the best RB on the field.
Our rush defense held their own with Wake. Pass defense was a little shaky with a couple of missed assignments early. Plus these are P5 speed receivers, so...
Overall I think we have a lot to look forward to. The GW game will tell a lot.

Not sure what to think about Richmond losing to Morgan State, (MEAC).

Didn’t get to watch the game, but sounded like the defense fought well enough. I don’t put much stock into these games just because of the talent disparity negating lots of potential scheme advantages, but one offensive TD is concerning. Was also surprised to see Allen get the backup nod. Didn’t show much of anything during the COVID spring (which granted probably isn’t a great indicator since it was a clusterf*** anyways. Seems like Folmar is going to have to do scheme up more this year and take away some presnap responsibility from the QBs. Less check with mes, less changing the play/routes at the line, that type of stuff. Gonna have to trust the playmakers to make plays.
