This weekend our favorite teams are Towson, Maine, Campbell and Stony Brook. I really don't think Stony Brook has a prayer of beating Villanova. Maine has a one in a million chance, (so there's a chance), of beating Albany, (possibly the best team in the CAA), but it's a rivalry game so you never know. Towson knocked off W&M last week, so there's a real chance they could knock off Delaware. I see Campbell and Richmond as a toss up. Unless this game is on parents' weekend, the Richmond crowd will be a non factor, so home field advantage is minimal. Campbell lost to NCCU by 1 point, had a close loss to us and lost to W&M on the first game of the season, (and first game as a CAA team). So I'm almost expecting a Campbell win. If just Campbell and Towson win, we go into week 10 tied with Delaware, Villanova and Albany. I'll be closely watching CU vs UR and TU vs UD this weekend.

I will also be pulling for all those favorites. I think Campbell has the best shot of winning. They definitely have the talent, and Richmond is plagued with inconsistency. Stony Brook is the longest of the long shots. Maine is always tough, so the Danes are not a lock. Can Towson beat Delaware? Possible, but doubtful. Their only common opponent, I think, has been New Hampshire. Both beat the Wildcats by nearly the same margin (Towson by 3, Blue Hens by 4). Delaware hasn't really been tested in-conference yet. We'll start to see how good they really are when they go up against Towson. Tigers had a solid win last week at W&M, but it seems to me the Tribe's QB has not played as well in 2023 as he did in prior years. It would be great if Towson knocked off Delaware, possibly making our game against UD Nov 4 a de facto CAA championship match.
I was disappointed that Downing did not get Offensive Player of the week, but Brosmer of NH had a career day against Stony Brook.
Go, Phoenix!

Richmond finally found a qb in a freshman I think they were hoping to redshirt but got forced into action due to injuries. They seem to have righted the ship.
But nothing matters if Elon doesn’t win out. Not getting in at 6-5.

Topher99, you are correct. Even if we win out, we'll have a tough time in the playoffs, witness our out-of-conference record: 0-3. Granted, perhaps we could, and should, have beaten GW and NCCU. We'll have to prove we belong there.

Main doing a respectable job, need to eliminate turnovers during the 2nd half. Gotta stop Hoffenbarger.

And they're the caliber team we would be meeting in the playoffs. That's why I say, if we do make it to the playoffs (doubtful after what Delaware did to Towson yesterday), we'll have to prove we belong there.
