There were 26 "seniors" honored before the Hampton game. Of those 26 listed in the article on elonphoenix.com/sports/football/roster only 4 appear to have no remaining eligibility. They are: Jordan Bonner, Marvin Pearson, Bo Sanders and Matt Downing*. Christian Da-Silva** is also listed as a Senior, but, at least in the article, he was not listed as being one of the honorees. *In another thread, Matt Downing was reported as having another year of eligibility. I would like for someone to confirm this if they know it to be true. **I'd also like to know Christian Da-Silva's disposition if anyone knows. It will be interesting to hear over the next few weeks/months who will be returning, who will be entering the transfer portal, (hopefully no one), and who will be moving on toward their career or grad school but not playing football. If anyone has any information, please post it here. |

Wow. If all these "seniors" leave, almost all the starters on offense will be gone except for the tight ends.

Yeah there’s going to be a pretty substantial exodus in the coming weeks or even days. Think it’s mainly due to the nature of the portal rn. From what I’ve been told most of the guys will be grad transfers, and the couple that aren’t are highly likely to make the jump to g5 at the very least.

What must it be like to coach in the portal era? Every season is a rebuilding year. Maybe we'll find out who the really good coaches are. How do you recruit high school talent in this environment? Honestly, a number of current CAA coaches appear to be in over their heads, and their career records reflect it. But, granted, I'm from a different era, so that may account for my bewilderment.

Griffin had become a solid special teams player by 2023. I wish Allen the best and hope he finds a school where he can compete effectively.
