I guess someone had to win. Glad it was us.
I guess Higgins is done. His absence cost us at least one game, maybe two. I think he was overall our second best player.

Higgins is confirmed Out for the Season.... Apparently he had issues with his hip last season as well. A nice win against a bad Tribe Team. We are now locked in to play at 4:30pm next Friday in DC. We play the loser of Saturday's game between Hampton and William & Mary. The winner of that game gets A&T in the 2pm game. If we were to win Friday we play the 6th seeded team which is currently Delaware but that could change after Saturday's games. Teams pretty tight in that area of the standings. I like how the brackets set up for us. I would not of wanted to play A&T again. HArd to beat a team 3 times in one season. ASsuming we win we could play a team we have already beaten so who knows a win would not be out of the question to put us into the Quarters where things really get tough as we would play the #3 Seed which is currently Hofstra.

A nice new low for us: Houpt over aggressive at end and hurts himself claiming a foul that didn’t happen at a time in game when it no longer mattered and then trys to start something with Elon. Don’t blame Elon for not shaking hands.
I didn’t think we could be more embarrassing.


What was worse is the clueless expression on Dane not understanding why Elon opted out of the handshakes. So sad

Houpt and Mackinnon got tied up (Basketball Play) going for rebound at the very end of the game at the buzzer. Houpt seems to take exception to it and mouthed to Mackinnon who just pointed up at the scoreboard without saying a word. Tempers flared and Elon coaches came on floor to retrieve Elon players and sent them directly to the locker room. Good move because it was getting tense. If Hampton beats W&M Saturday then we will play W&M next Friday in Round 1. This thing may not be over yet.

Houpt is obviously a brat. He's a decent player, but acts like a spoiled rich kid, (whether he is or not). This was a good game for the Phoenix. But not a complete 40 minute effort. Our guys need to play every game like the Delaware game, which was as close to a complete game effort as they've played this year. Even the UNCW game had significant lulls in effort. Fortunately in that game UNCW had lulls as well. Our guys also need to work on getting "+1" when they draw fouls. They need to finish the shot at a much greater percentage than they have this season. They just need a little more toughness. Good win though. We need to keep it up!!
