Clendenning Ties for First at Duke Twilight 5/8/2007
DURHAM, N.C. - Jessica Clendenning recorded a height of 12'-06" (3.80 meters) in the pole vault at the Duke Asics Twilight Meet to finish in a tie for first place. The height was another NCAA East Regional Qualifying height, marking her sixth consecutive competition in which she has cleared the qualifying standard.
Clendenning will represent Elon at the NCAA East Regional on May 25-26 in Gainsville, Fla.
A three-time Southern Conference champion, Clendenning collected all-conference accolades on seven occasions - four times in indoor competition and three times in outdoor action. She ranked as high as 19th in the country this spring and holds the Elon indoor and outdoor pole vault records as well as the SoCon indoor meet milestone

Clendenning Ties for Eighth at NCAA Regional 5/27/2007
GAINSVILLE, Fla. – Elon women's track and field standout Jessica Clendenning (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) posted a height of 3.81 meters (12-06.00 feet) to finish in a tie for eighth in a field of 26 competitors at the NCAA East Regional in Gainsville, Florida on Saturday afternoon in her second consecutive East Regional appearance. Clendenning tied with Kirsten Edwards of Navy while Erin Mahony of Virginia Tech took the crown with a vault of 4.06 meters (13-03.75 feet).
Mahoney's teammate Ashley Early finished second while Natalie Gengel of Cornell placed third and Lori Bowen of Florida was fourth. Lara Jones from Duke finish fifth, Clemson's Caroline Kennedy was sixth and North Carolina Rhian Jenks was seventh.
Clendenning ranked as high at 19th this season among NCAA Division I women's pole vaulters thanks to a 3.90-meter jump earlier in the season.
In late April, Clendenning captured her third straight Southern Conference pole vault title with a jump of 3.80 meters (12-05.50 feet). Clendenning compete in all eight SoCon Championships - four indoors and four outroodr - during her career at Elon, earned a top-three finish for all-conference accolades in the pole vault seven times. She won the event outdoors in the spring of 2006 and indoors this past winter. She holds the Elon indoor and outdoor pole vault records as well as the SoCon indoor meet milestone.
Clendenning was awarded the Stein H. Basnight Outstanding Athlete of the Year honors at the 33rd Annual Elon University Athletics Awards Banquet.
