Let me preface this by saying I have NO inside information! My guess though is that the position is Connor's to lose. He has pretty much done everything that has been asked of him and the kid is a born leader. So, talent and ability notwithstanding, right now I would guess Connor's the man.
BTW, I heard Connor has gained 15+lb. over last year's 185.

I believe they both should have the competition to earn playing time. They both need game experience. Depends on who can block and receive for them. There is a lot of work to do.

I would say Connor definitely has the inside track right now. He just looks quicker, more precise and has a lot of zip on his passes.

Skrosky needs to make a decision soon. For the sake of preparing for WF.
I think most on this forum have given the nod to CC, particularly those that have seen practices and scrimmages in person like Nellie. If that's true, why wait? What's the benefit?
Unless Thompson is clearly the better QB right now, you have to go with CC, right? And give Thompson a red shirt if at all possible. Maybe Skrosky is waiting for Saturday's scrimmage to make it official.
It has to happen soon.

I believe that both are going to see early playing time in the first 3 games and hope one emerges as a clear starter to keep the competition going both are too inexperienced to say the least plus making sure and I know go on and on on this point but the OL needes to gel they could be good and back ups must have very little drop off.

plus game planning for a lefty is different so why give Wake any more time to plan for it, or not.

I really feel like BOTH of these guys deserve quality playing time in the heat of the battle and not let one play and the other rot on the bench w/ a clipboard. Let the one who moves the team more that is fewer turnovers take over as the needs arise .

Nellie,
I'm not sure there's an opportunity in the schedule to take that approach. Perhaps in the game against WF, throw them both in there -- it's essentially considered a loss already. But the games following, I think you need to set sail with the one that gives you the best shot and stick with him.

I ordinarily agree but in this case, with both QB's having no ,zero College game experience. I think it helps to give them both a shot. Both have embraced the competition and are pushing each other in a positive way. Actually Thompson's brother was in a similar scenario at USC with Shaw. When one player emerges as a true starter He sure will have won it but also if one gets injured the other will need to step up.
