Just looking at our record and noticed were undefeated at home. I know its only 3 games right now, but looking ahead furman is beatable and woffords hard to get a good look at them, playing only 1 d1 game. but we could rack it up to six b4 we enter our long Christmas road streak

The team has always played pretty tough at home.
Before last season, we had only lost something like 14 games at home since coming up to DI.

Ok I did quick math so it may be off. But if we win out at home we'd end up 11-9 in the conference, 14-15 overall (bracket buster not factored) Not a bad season. I think we will take a few on the road and I can't say that i think we're going to beat Davidson this year (I'm hoping but they are goood). The Nest is one of the hardest places to play in the conference. I was told by one conference coach that he hates to play at Elon because of the atmosphere that we create. He tries to schedule the game after classes end for that exact reason! ;D

I know there have only been a handful of home games and one was against non-DI competition, but has anyone noticed that the attendance seems to be down a bit this year? It's nothing significant since our place is so small, but we usually average over 1000 a game before winter break and winter term. I don't think we have surpassed 1000 yet? What's the general attitude of the students on campus? Is it due to last year's struggles or the competition? Anyone have any insight?
Go Phoenix!

At the belmont abby game i had one player more intrested in my mouth then the game, and hey i keep it clean... crazy but clean. we have lost some of that atmosphere though. in the two games ive made this year attendence was down. I had no problem sneaking into the student section and getting a frount row seat. I hope this is not a tell to come.

Anyone see that pattern? We're due for a 10-win season at home based on that.

BIG TIME win for the Phoenix tonight! I'm proud of the way the boys came out in the 2nd half. The last two contests, we have scored 18 and 21 points in the first half, respectfully. The intensity of the team was way up after the break and we were able to shut down the Paladins. Ola played another phenomenal game, Brett broke out of his slump with just a RIDICULOUS baseline dunk, and Chris Long has just come on strong and taken control of the floor when he is in. Montell is just a little off, but caught fire halfway through the second half.
It was the best atmosphere in The Nest that I have seen in a long time. Even sections 7 and 9 were getting into it! WHOA. This is a big confidence booster, as we can prove that we can come back and hold onto a lead. Let's not get too excited - Davidson had Duke down to the wire.
Overall, solid performance and great student turnout. Hopefully this game will bring some energy and enthusiasm for the team. Proud to wear my maroon tonight!
GO PHOENIX!

It does look like attendance is heading in the right direction:
11/13 vs. Erskine - 408 11/17 vs. Georgia State - 876 11/27 vs. WCU - 916 12/1 vs. Furman - 1010
Looks like we'll slide back the next couple games with D2 Tusculum then Wofford after students are gone for Christmas. Davidson on 1/9 ought to be a big crowd, though, especially if we continue to play well the next several games.

Grable and Nestor arn't getting along. That is what I heard from another member of the team, but I don't know any more details than that. It sounded like Nestor put a huge load of pressure on Scott at the beginning of the season, and has been real harsh on him for not being productive on the court.

Like the previous post mentioned, the next two contests will be scarely attended. From our end, the Phanatics will be unveiling the new marketing campaign starting January 9th. The "Burn Up The Nest" campaign should add a dimension of enthusiasm for getting people there. Our organization is pouring in alot of money and efforts to make some radical changes in the Nest for the bulk of conference play.
In my study and work trying to alter culture on campus and transform spirit of our students, I have found a DIRECT link between success on the court and atmosphere in Alumni gym. I'm not saying that as band-aid for our poor play - but it's unbelievably well correlated. The better the atmosphere, the better the squad plays.
During our run 2 years ago, the game night atmosphere was outstanding. The guys had a purpose and the energy was poured out onto the court. We hope to recreate that similar experience.
UNCG just launched "Blue Crew." I got some dirt on them, and their organization is an almost identical model to ours. From dues, mission, etc. it's unbelievably similar. I wonder if they had just studied our website, or got ahold of some of governing documents. Either way, they have seen what we have grown and want the same.
