This has to stop, we need to get the job done. I never like facing Cit for this reason. Is it home cooken or is it the crowd. maybe both. The socon needs to go to a rotation. I just hope we can get an unbises view if it was fair of foul becasue i want to know if i need to kick some ump-backside

I talked to our radio guy and he said that more cit fans said it was foul or they did not know then it being fair. Now that says something. Im not trying to take the win away from cit, we had ever opp to score in the bottom of the 8th and didn't, the Real issue here is the caliber of umps we get in the so con. We are no longer a no name conf, we have WCU, CoC Elon and a few other baseball standouts. Our rankings keep rising and we are getting national attention. With that said we should get or the conf should pay for better umps. Either that or instant replay . Also there should be a rule about walls and buildings too close to the pole. If what people said is true about the ball hitting the wall or tree first then thats absurd. If those things were not there it would clearly go foul if the ball changes it direction or comes back it clearly hit the pole. This conf needs to do some revamping in the off season, and i mean just throw out the old ideas and start over. With all that said, hope is not lost. We still have the same no of games as Cit and wofford since they were in the play in. So if we can make it through a double header our pitching situation will be the same as theres. we just have to shake this off and get down to business

Wow GSU bases loaded no outs down two. What do they do..... Hit into A tripple play to end the game. looks like we have to go through App and UNCG to get to the loosers final

I wouldn't say that what happened yesterday is "home cooking". From the radio broadcast, it sounded like Lewter got too many close pitches his way for that. If the ball was indeed foul (which all indications are that it was), it's just an unfortunate bad call. It's easy to initially point the finger at the umps and blame the outcome on them. But as EFF mentioned, we had the opportunity to drive in runs in the eighth. And who knows, maybe if it was called foul he would have taken the next pitch yard. It's just the way the ball happened to bounce yesterday.
Controversy aside, a victory yesterday would have made the road to a championship immensely easier. We could have thrown Romanowicz today against Wofford, Booker in the championship game, and Hensley in the second game Sunday if neccessary. As it is, Romanowicz started this afternoon against App. If we want to make a title run, Booker should be starting tonight, Reichenbach and Basham could potentially get the ball tomorrow, and then Hensley on Sunday. That's a lot to hope for, but until we're out of this tournament, anything is possible.

So, I surfed on over to soconsports.com this morning to check out the final from last night. Wofford 6, UNCG 5. I understand it was a late night, but is it too much to ask to make sure you get the team right? Someone at soconsports must not like us...this information is accurate as of 4:50 PM Friday
On a good note, looks like we'll be playing again tonight - up 5 going to the top of the 9th

im sorry to hear your car got keyed, i dont know any phoenix fans that would stoup that low. If it was a phoenix fan i would have to say it was a student or someone unassociated with us. Are you sure it was a phoenix fan, from what i hear everyone was rooting for us to win. GL with that situation and again I apoligize for this situation PS you said the 28th which is 2 days from now was it last night that it happened?

Let me clarify. It was about 12:30 AM on March 25. The Elon Citadel game had ended about 10 minutes before. My car was parked facing Joe Riley Park and had a Citadel Baseball front tag, and easy target for a disgruntled fan on the way to his, or her, vehicle. 5 will get you 10 it was an Elon Fan or judging by some of the SoCon Tourney posts re: home cooking, moving the tournament to NC, etc. it was someone form Tobacco Road.

the comments about moving the tourny came from a Charleston News paper, home cooking comments come fro mthe fact that it happens at almost any tourny you go to, along with the fact its been in ctown too long and its time to give another city a shot.

Why on March 25 would someone key your car? There weren't that many fans at the regular season tilt! We beat y'all 2 out of 3 and we won on March 24. Can't see how we would be disgruntled. Totally judgmental. Not defending previous statements, but that is just way off base.
