Can't believe Curry took a three at the end when the defense had already back down to allow them to run down the clock. Doesn't reflect on the team or McKillop, but that that was pretty dirty by him.

Nothing for your guys to hang their heads about tonight. You've got a gritty, gutty team. I'll be having nightmares about Douglas catching the ball in space for a day or two.
I look for good things from Elon in the next couple of years.

I was very proud of the team last night. They really gave it a good shot. Too bad that they were a little cold offensively, I think that made a real difference.
It was great to see Elon on national tv and give a good accounting of themselves. The Cat's would have loved to blown us out, but the guys hung in there and made a couple of runs in the second half, but never quite got to the top of the mountain.
Also, kudos to the Elon phans in Charleston. You guys were loud and clearly heard. Lots of tv shots. Great signs!! I really liked the one that said something like "We bELONg".
Again, congrats to the team and fans for a great job.

I think the team was flat out tired. They let the ball slip behind them to many times on D, and it didn't look like their legs were fresh when shooting the ball.
Davidson is just plain good, and to pull within 5 with the game winding down sure added some excitment.
Congrats to Davidson!!!! You'll probably be a 9 or 10 (possibly higher considering the ranking) seed in the tourney!!!

Great job last night. We hung in there and played as well as we could. Too many missed layups by Montell. He looked both hurt and tired.
My heart was pounding after TJ made that three with 4:26 left to cut the lead to 5.
Proud to be an alum last night.
PS. Best sign of the night.... "It's pronounced E-LAWN"

Being at the game is for sure one of my best experiences as both a student and alum! The players made the university proud by just getting this far when no one gave us chance from the beginning! And to the students, alumni and friends of the university that made the trip, you all deserve a huge thanks!! We never sat down from tipoff to the final buzzer now that is what college basketball should be about... Need to create that in alumni next year.. All season long!
And finally to Coach Nestor and staff... You have instilled great sportsmanship in your players... Too see the team cone back out and cheer for Davidson as they recieved thier trophy... That is class!! As for Davidson class I was truly disappointed only two of thier players came over to shake our players hands..
Till next year... Go Phoenix!!

Congrats to the team on a great run in the conference tourney. The team played hard all 4 days and just seemed to run out of gas at the end. Couldn't be more proud of the team and Elon. Great night all around and I'm hoping this energy and excitement carries over to next season.
We were laughing at that sign too. It's probably pronounced that way if you are from Long Island.
Go Phoenix!

E-LAWN sign was awesome.
No problem with Curry's 3 because, as has been said, the shot clock was winding down and he just chucked it. Only problem is that even when he just chucks it it still goes in.
Great game, Elon just didn't quite have enough. Davidson threatened to pull away, then Elon pulled back to within 5-7, then Davidson pulled away, then we came back. It's a shame the final score doesn't reflect how close the game was at times - I was hoping it'd at least stay within double digits.
Though we did - by the slimmest of margins - cover the spread (the spread was 16.5).

Quote of the day from the Davidson board:
"How did this team lose 11 conference games?"

I don't want to hi-jack this thread but the shot clock was not running down when Curry took that 3-pointer. He dribbled his man down to a spot where he felt comfortable to take that shot and took it with 12-15 seconds left on the shot clock.
I don't want that to take away from the spirit of this thread, however. The team showed a lot of heart in the tournament and I was really impressed with how tough they were. They refused to let Davidson, or Chatt on Saturday, pull away. Thanks to the seniors and hopefully the returners can build on this finish for next year. Davidson is a good representative of the conference and I hope they can win a couple in the tournament and make us all proud. They are certainly capable of pulling it off.

I agree with all of the above. Just a comment about the E-lawn sign...I apparently picked up a different meaning...aside from making sure the announcers did not call us "ellon" as they often do...my first thought was the reference to our beautiful campus' green "lawns"...perhaps a double meaning in the sign?
I too was very disappointed in Davidson's failure to show more class after the game. Tried to tell myself they were excited and temporarily forgot to do what I'm sure all coaches and parents have instilled in them (although you would think McKillop would have herded them over to shake hands...I think Ernie would have)...but, it was a much closer game for them than expected and I think they probably truly felt excitement to have won. They had to use top 6-7 players the whole game. Announcers attributed a few of Curry's misses to having tired legs from playing 3 days in a row...probably true, but think how much more tired our guys were, playing 4 days in a row. They did an outstanding job. And the fans were great...thank all of you for going and supporting the guys.

First of all, a big thank you to Brian Tracy and Dave Blank for organizing the bus ride down to Charleston. I don't go without that bus, and the trip was worth it.
I have to agree with most of the above. Curry's 3 at the end was, in my opinion, out of line. There was at least 8 seconds left on the shot clock and he didn't need to take it.
That being said, I can't remember being more thrilled to be an Elon Alumni! The fans were cheering from 1/2 hour before game time all the way through the end of the game. Our fans were on their feet the entire time (As opposed to the other fan base). Our fans were loud, for the most part respectful, and had great signs. I didn't see the E-Lawn sign, but the signs I did see were great!
As for the game, well played by our guys. I thought they gave it everything they had and almost came out with the win. We kept Davidson close the whole game and had a chance to pull it out at the end.
Here's to next year!

Davidson got the ball with 48 seconds left. We had to take a shot. Curry had a decent look with about 12 seconds on the clock. He took it. Nothing unsportsmanlike about that.
Congrats to the Elon fans. You guys were strong in number and in volume.
I wish they could redo the FOY voting. Chris Long would pick up some votes. You'll miss Watson, but Long is going to be a very fine Southern Conference point guard.
Props to the Phoenix team and to Coach Nestor. Great game plan and execution. Good luck next season.
