Last 1 win season dates back to NAIA days in Leon Hart's first year where we went 1-9. Before that we also went 1-9 in 1966.
A 1-11 season will be our worst season sine the 1926 0-10 season. And I mean that based on the winning percentage only. We had a number of 1 win seasons in there, but in 8, 9 or 10 games seasons and this is a 12 game season.
With that said, we should feel lucky. UNCC given an extra few seconds would have won that game too.
We have 11 touchdowns in 9 games (7 passing, 4 rushing) on 10 INTs. And we are 14-23 FGs (60%). We are giving up 30 points per game.
Good grief, how bad are we?

I'm sure you will tell us since you must think we can't figure it out. I'll be at the game this weekend watching them give their best. Keep fighting guys, good things are down the road.

Top notch competition make things that much more difficult. But it also makes us better.
Through these trials, it is clear this team has developed heart and a will to fight. It has embraced the grind.
These intangible things are the foundation of the future. Throw in a little more talent, a little more size and speed, and we are right there.
No one wants to rest on "Wait till next year." But I recall before the season began many of you saying this is a 2-win team at best. And that's right. This is, more or less, what was expected.

There are just a lot of elements that make up a winning football/ Athletic program and "Attitude" is in my opinion is right at the top of this list. One has to think that from last weeks effort that somehow our guys developed a spine and came back on the road and were a factor. This is a sowing seeds time for us as opposed to reaping the harvest. We just have to identify the future these last few games. We so need a playmaker or two that We can go to.

This may be our worst season in terms of wins/losses but what I see on the field is progress. The team plays hard for 4 quarters. For the most part, we are a very young team, which means also much less experienced than many of our opponents. The CAA is a tougher league than the SoCon overall...yet, in my opinion, we have shown improvement in a lot of areas. All teams have injuries but we have been hit hard with key position injuries. But, in terms of scoring...we have come close to beating a couple of the CAA teams...just fell short. But, heck, even NFL teams have lop-sided games...and those are hand-picked paid professionals on both sides of the field.

Also, to follow up on a previous discussion, it is clear that Skrosky is keeping the shirt on the true frosh as much as possible. He has a lot of confidence in several of his first recruiting class and is grooming them for next year. He has burned only a couple who were absolutely necessary and were well prepared. It isn't easy to sit back & watch the "L"s pile up. But, I think Skrosky is building the program for the long haul, not the short term.
BTW, All good points above Homer, Whoa and Pfc.

Looks like we landed a BIG receiver for next year... 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver Joshua Ramseur from Newton-Conover HS: www.hudl.com/athlete/601055/highlights having Trey Lennon (6'3") and this new recruit on the roster could really open up the playbook for our offense...

I impressed with his ability to block, just as much as I was impressed with some of the catches on the reel.

Speed. We need speed to stretch the field.
I am pretty darn excited to see what this team turns into next year and beyond. Recruiting has been pretty focused on offense. Could be very fun to watch.

We have a whole section dedicated on recruits in the Elon only section. I for one hate to have topics taken in another direction losing seasons and verbal commits just do not mix until We start speculating on depth & positional moves. just my take but thanks for the pick up.

I don't have a tab saying "Phoenix Nest." I must not know the secret handshake.

Not really sure why it matters where verbal committs are listed. In today's world, information is everywhere. It's not like our record or performance is a secret.
Just my two cents.
