With all the money being spent on football scholarships which didint happen until recently, results and performance are on the President's radar.
No way Blank is safe and I agree that he is one "major donor being pissed off" from being gone.
You don't build the brand that Elon has built by being complacent.

Well heck yeah! 63 x $43,000 = $2,709,000. Plus salaries and that's just football. Like it or not, Athletics is the most visible part of any university that has sports. Outside the Ivy League, that is. So when the top two most visible aspects of the most visible part of the university are performing well below par, I'd say that someone who is concerned about "optics" is very aware of what is, has gone on. Look at what has happened with Elon since Lambert has been there compared with 40 years before he got there. He has been anything but complacent.

Pearsall is a specimen! Faster and more talented than the rest and 6' 5" 245. He is the one you want to get off the bus first. From what I hear he is also one of the laziest workers when it comes to practice. He doesn't care if he gets on the field or not.

I am sick of seeing old (and good) players like Richardson, Ingle, Alt, Acha, and others being benched this year while young players are continuously proving that they are not ready to play. Andre Davis and Ricky Brown are doing very well at Campbell (a team that is 4-3). McGuire who was seemingly pushed out, transferred to South Dakota. Well I guess a team that just beat the 4 time national champions last week thought he was good enough (see article below). The truth is Skrosky cant see real talent and likes to push out the good players to bring in young. Skrosky is not able to keep the good players around because he decides that the ones who have worked their butts off for this team for years should get benched. His is pushing his own agenda rather than playing the best players and the ones that can win games. www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/university-of-south-dakota/2015/10/17/unbelievable-coyotes-stun-no-3-ndsu/74050358/I understand your frustration but did you watch last season at all? All those offensive linemen were less than stellar. There is a reason freshman are playing over these people. We all no last staff was not very good at recruiting or really tried for that fact. The players were awful. Ask a lot of those kids where else they were offered. It wasn't pretty. Those two two are doing well at Campbell. A Pioneer league team that plays a lot of non scholarship schools. There talent should be better. It's like Vad Lee should be good against us. McGuire was fully pushed out. He really wanted a specific masters that Elon didn't offer so it was actually better for his future to leave. some of the reasons coaches get rid of players may not always be solely based on what they do or did on the field. If they aren't going to fit the scheme why keep them? If they are a negative person in the locker room or meetings why keep them? If they don't work hard. Why keep them?

I think it's time Skrosky lets somebody else call the plays or they hire somebody that can. It makes me question if he has ever called a play before or if lembo was the true play caller and Skrosky was just the titled OC like wroblewski. You think Pete called plays? Your funny.

is it just me or do we look extremely undersized compared to the teams we have played so far in the CAA. Player to player the other teams have looked better physically. Also we need to start recruiting a solid kicker for next season. You are right. We are greatly out matched with size and speed. That comes from our terrible Socon recruiting under a very bad previous staff.

I am sure that Admin is looking over the athletic program and especially the football program due the costs associated with running it (coaching salaries, scholarships, etc.) so I don't believe they will be complacent nor do I expect that the AD is comfortable not seeing significant improvement this year let alone at least a .500 program in year three. If the bar is set any lower, it wouldn't reflect the rest of the improvements to our academics and campus. Elon Football is visible and cannot be good for university's overall appearance if they are consistently functioning at 1-2 wins each year.
Skrosky is a 180 from Swepson and much more likable, but he is struggling with his recruits. I don't buy that the old regime's recruits are less talented. How can the defense show signs of progress with a mix of old and new yet the old offense recruits are not D1 talent but the defense does have those talents? I said earlier this season, a mix is the way to show progress and yet, it hasn't happened or even tried the most part. The offense is overloaded with freshman and sophomores while the defense is a good mix-thus we see which unit has shown some progress from last year. Let's be honest, the defense has been on the field for the vast majority of these games and are the sole reason we have 2 wins to date. I believe with a mix and a better offensive game plan (some plays need to be banished to the trash bin), we could and would be showing the same signs of progress on the offensive side of the ball.
Unless the coaches are willing to look at other alternatives on the roster just to see, no one will ever know and we can debate this and what will happen (or wont) this year, next year etc.. The defense clearly shows signs of talent and competitiveness while the side Skrosky overseas (a past OC) has stuck two years to the same players each year and pretty much the same game plans and we are seemingly going backwards.
What we are doing isn't working...especially on the offensive side of the ball. I hope with the Bye, we will see a different game plan and a mix of talent working together for signs of improvement. Its up to the staff - I hope the Admin is watching as this has been painful since Lembo left.

As a comparison, look at what Harbaugh is doing at Michigan with the previous staff's recruits...he is mixing in his recruits with the previous and with an energy and strong game plan, his team is winning big with the same group that was run over by more than half the Big Ten the last couple of years...what a crushing loss this week though and got to feel bad for the punter!

I think the big thing is look at QB... After Quinn we only had JL who was not very good. CC as a frosh was just as good. I mean Loch couldn't even beat out Quinn and that was on two different staffs. And we all know the CC was a stretch considering his other offers I believe we're D2 but when the last staff had zero QB recruits what is a new staff to do. We move to RB. BJ while he is not bad is injury prone and played in 3 games last year and still had close to 300 yards. Coppedge while has speed had 450 yards in 2013, almost 700 in 2014. Oh then we have Gentry who no offense to him wouldn't be on anyones depth chart in the CAA. So you wonder why they were so high on Summers. I would say teams like Richmond, JMU and NH all had 2 running backs that would start over all our RBs. Our only 3 upperclassmen WR are Allison, Oliver and Seidawand. Allison and Oliver get time so not sure who else we are going to play but the young guys. Especially when McCray and Joyner are by far are best WR as freshman who Skrosky recruited. TE is the only position we have depth at with upperclassmen. O-line was pretty young last year and when you bring in freshman that are better than what you have I think you should play them. Even our upperclassmen are outmatched and undersized when it comes to the opponents in the CAA. So please tell me where is this great talent in the upper class on offense?

I feel the only position where freshman are playing over upperclassmen is in the o-line department correct?

Don't know where you got the info as far as Pearsall being lazy and not wanting to get on the field, but that's definitely not the case. Scrosky and that GA he calls a TE coach need to get their heads out of their you know what and play him. If they don't you'll be hearing about another former Elon player, and this time it won't be because he was run off it'll be because he transfered somewhere else. If you hang around practice any ask the players who should be playing at the FBS level. His name is always mentioned. He's anything but lazy.
