Passing Offense: 98th of 122 FCS Teams Rushing Offense: 101st Total Offense: 112th Scoring Offense: 116th 3rd Down Conversions: 106th First Downs Gained: 111th Passing Efficiency: 114th
We are near the bottom of every single meaningful offensive category. Any school performing at this level should have wholesale changes made to the staff and scheme at the end or during the season.
If no changes are made, we all should seriously doubt our commitment to winning and our head coach's ability to manage a program.
This is down right embarrassing. There are no other words to describe our incompetence on offense.

I assume RS has a 5 year deal. Will the university eat 2 years after doing the same with Swepson???
After seeing the above, I don't believe you can put this all on DT.
What a disaster.

What a disaster is right. And the odd thing is, we have a very solid O line. DT is almost never under pressure.

I had an earlier post which indicated that the problem is the offensive scheme and the lack of an offensive coordinator. Rich was not an acceptable offensive coordinator when he took over the offense at Elon under Pete Lembo. The QB is bad but that is the only personnel problem. With the right scheme and the right person calling plays our team could/would be performing better. This has been the whole problem for 2 and a half years. The defense while acceptable wears down because they are on the field way to long each game. They are performing in spite of not having an acceptable DC ( no experience). I'll repeat myself: Our players are just as big, just as quick and smarter than most of the teams we play. They, not us, deserve better plans, better coaching, and better outcomes. If you keep doing the same thing over and over, you cannot expect different outcomes. We have no offense and no imagination. It will only change if you change the input.

The scheme we are running is stuck in 2009. The spread is no longer a novelty. Our plays lack imagination and are as slow developing as anything I've ever seen. We also have zero tempo and I have yet to see us attack the perimeter at all in the run game. We run the same play over and over.
Here we are in year three and our offense is horrible. A change has to be made and we need to hire an imaginative OC to call plays. Rich seems to be a CEO type. Be the CEO and realize you can't be the HC AND OC. You are not Bobby Petrino.

For sure Lembo wasn't making the calls?

Lembo was pure big picture. All operational facets were done by coordinators.

I believe the the culture on this staff is growing, I think coach RDmight be the man to lead us back. I just believe that it's too much to be the HC and OC.
My point is that a change in scheme and a true OC is the way to go. We are dealing with nearly a full three year sample size. We're not getting better. It's fact.

And why give more patience than Hamilton or Swepson got?

I've spoken with a number of people who were a part of the Swepson and Skrosky regimes. They say it is a night and day difference on how the program is run. That for one is important to me.
Swepson took a team that had four wining seasons in a row and turned it upside down. RS is trying to pick up the pieces.
Am I happy with the results? NO. I believe that he deserves at least four years. However, if no offensive changes are made and there is no improvement, I can't argue with making a move after year four.
As for Hamilton, those were dark days. Starting your son and refusing to acknowledge that he was not capable to play at our level was enough for any coach to be shown the door.

Seems to me a dedicated OC would be a major step in the right direction.

So that means Worldly has 1 more year. What would you want to see to save his job, hiring an OC to me isn't enough, but also 1 year of a new OC isn't enough to judge either
