SOCON is hardly a dumpster fire and is by no means worse off with your departure....have fun in the basement of the CAA for many years to come.

Definitely not a dumpster fire, but certainly no longer in the top half of FCS football. We'll absolutely enjoy the basement of the top FCS conference in the nation, but it won't be for years to come. We look forward to thrashing some of you over the next few years.

Wofford, Furman, Samford (get well Pat Sullivan) & UTC all will be who they normally will be. But losing GSU & ASU it sure looks different with VMI and restart ETSU and start up Mercer. Big South looks pretty good with CCU knocking out The Citadel. We are just not in that league now I do not think We will will be looking back as our schedule is more challenging and our commitment to improvement is a given.

We have $159 Million in bond debt! Based on the last public information - our debt jumped from $109 Million in '12 to $159 Million in '13. This is disturbing. High Point is disturbing, Elon's is a drop in the bucket.

Maybe. With the drop in significance the SoCon has taken, those teams may see a slight drop in their recruiting pool. Probably not much, because FCS recruiting tends to be much more regional than FBS and BCS. However, I certainly don't see an overall improvement in SoCon recruiting over the next several years.

As a former player I remember where we started in 2005 when we were considered the bottom feeders of the SoCon, and in two years we turned that around, not with a new fieldhouse or new Nike uniforms, but simply due to the fact that Lembo and his staff taught us how to be great, the same will come true with Skrosky and his young Phoenix. So don't worry the young alumni that helped turned this program around when everyone said it couldn't be done then, we will be back to support Skrosky anyway he needs.
LONG LIVE ELON #EmbraceTheGrind

LONG LIVE ELON #EmbraceTheGrind I don't know if this is JD or Daronce but if it is, a lot of us enjoyed watching both of you play. When Skrosky gets that type of passion back into Elon football, look out!

One big event in changing the culture is our Home opener next weekend at A&T a true backyard matchup between 2 traditional rivals. Back in '99 We were the match up former Aggie coach Hayes wanted to make a statement and put upstart Elon in it's place. They brought outstanding tradition (to Williams stadium) tailgating and their awesome band... and a so this how it's done. We just kicked their butt 40-7 and gave us a rung on a 9-2 season
Fast forward Elon and A&T have both ridden the roller coaster but the Aggies finally got a solid coach in Ron Broadway and sanctions should be in their past, but they willl bring their band so the show goes on.... Plan to be there & encourage folks to get to the stadium early baby steps but you gotta start somewhere... 9 0% of success is just showing up

They had profit of of $39 Million on revenue of $168 Million for 2012. Elon had a profit of $27 Million on revenue of $238 Million. Check your facts....

Never said the sky was falling. Just needed to point out where we are and why it's hard to compete on some levels.

Never said the sky was falling. Just needed to point out where we are and why it's hard to compete on some levels. What's your definition of success or competing? Are you wearing football only glasses or talking Elon athletics as a whole? Is it any different than what you considered success in the SoCon? What's the time period you measure? By being vague, you set it up nicely to come back at some point and say "I told you so" at the first sign of adversity. No one thinks it will be easy, but it's not like Elon just joined the Big Ten either. Go Phoenix!
