The Phoenix will play the Paladins in Greenville.
Excited for the playoffs, but this is disappointing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Based upon the results of today with Delaware and UTC losing, I have no doubt that the Phoenix will be in the playoffs tomorrow. I just am very interested to see who will be their opponent.
The NCAA utilizes regional matchups (400 mile distance) for the first round. It seems as Richmond, Davidson, Furman, Gardner Webb, and Mercer would all fall under that category. Saint Francis is just a tad over with 405 miles, so it could be an option.
It cannot be G-W since we played in the regular season. It cannot be Richmond since we share a conference and played in the regular season.
I think Davidson or Furman would be more probable, but we will find out tomorrow afternoon.

Davidson at Elon (Samford bye) and G-W at Furman (W&M bye) seems the most logical and best for us. I think a lot depends on whether Mercer and/or UTC get in. That could shake things up trying to match everyone up.
Knowing how the committee is I wouldn't be shocked to see us at Furman and Richmond getting a better draw with Davidson since St. Francis and UR played in the regular season.
Right now I'm just glad Elon is in the conversation.
Go Phoenix!

How do tickets work for away playoff game? Does Elon hold a block or do tickets need to be purchased through Furman’s site?

I think there is an allotment that Elon will get. Phoenix Club Priority Point ranking will likely get the first crack.

The away side of Paladin Stadium is massive. Phoenix Club would work too. Crappy draw for both Elon and Furman, but I knew that's what would happen. We're the only CAA team not hosting. Gotta go win. Go Phoenix!

There is a reason why we’re not hosting…Leadership.

We must have gotten outbid, Davidson to Richmond, Delaware in field, W&M seeded all good gets for CAA, WE were not thrown a bone, fueling major disrespect chip on shoulder, got to prove it on the field

Go Phoenix! You got that right! Delaware, the worst CAA team in the playoffs, (who frankly shouldn't have made it), gets pushover St. Francis, New Hampshire gets Patriot league Fordham, Richmond who we and W&M beat gets Pioneer League Davidson, W&M, Who's only loss was to Elon, of course gets the bye and we get 9-2 SoCon 2nd place Furman. This will be the game of the week in the playoffs. The good news is if we win, we get a team who hasn't played against a defense all year.

Furman crowing on their board ( gopaladins.com/viewforum.php?f=2 ) about their beating our one common opponent Wofford 63-28 while we only beat them 26-0. It does bear mentioning that it was pouring rain for most of our night game with Wofford at their place, while they played Wofford on a beautiful day at home.

Furman, as usual, looks to be a tough opponent. Good offensive stats (somewhat inflated by their 52-0 rout of DII North Greenville), evidently a strong rushing attack, including QB Huff who can run. If the Phoenix team that beat William & Mary, Richmond, and Delaware shows up, the Phoenix could dominate. I don't believe Furman has faced the quality of opponent in the Southern Conference that we've faced in the CAA. If we play as we did against Rhode Island, we're in trouble. The Furman fans aren't as hostile as a Georgia Southern for example, but when they get started with their signature chant, they get ugly quick. Both our offense and defense have to stifle the Furman crowd, and we may need a 50-yard field goal or two from all-time Phoenix great Skyler Davis.
Go, Phoenix!

Based on the end of season rankings, this game pits 11/11 Furman vs 12/15 Elon. From my quick overview, the other closest match-up is 15/13 Fordham vs 16/16 UNH. We'll need to bring our "A" game to Greenville.
